How can I become a member of PSI?

Membership in Poetry Slam, Inc. is open to anyone who loves poetry. (In fact, you don’t even have to love it. But I’d say almost all of us do.) Becoming a member is a simple one step process: go to our membership section and pay your dues. That’s it. You’re in!
How much does it cost?

Membership in PSI can be had for as little as $25 a year. If you want to give more, let us know. We will be happy to talk to you about gifts of any amount. Tax deductible donations to PSi are greatly appreciated!

What are the benefits of membership?

General benefits of membership at all levels include the following:
InvolvementĀ in important policy-making decisions by attending and voting at the SlamFamily and SlamMaster meetings.
Only members of PSI are able to enter the annual National Poetry Slam.
Only members of PSI are able to enter the annual Individual World Poetry Slam.
Only members of PSI are able to enter the annual Women of the World Poetry Slam.
Only members of PSI are able to register or certify their local Poetry Slams for team inclusion in any PSI sanctioned poetry event.
Only members of PSI are able to participate in special projects (like the SlamAmerica bus tour across the US in 2000).
Only PSI certified Poetry Slams can participate in or host the NPS, iWPS or WOWps.

How long does a membership last?

All Memberships are valid for one year form the date of purchase.

Individuals who win the National Poetry Slam, IWPS, or WoWPS are members for life.

What are the requirements of membership?

General requirements of membership at all levels include the following:
Acceptance of and adherence to the PSi Code of Conduct 2016.
When participating in Poetry Slam, Inc. events, all members must agree to the PSI AV Release 2015.
